Abstract
The paper aims at understanding the laws of two countries-USA and India in the light of copyright protection of their works in cyberspace. The main issues like the jurisdiction of domestic courts, compliance with WIPRO, liability on infringement and remedies for the copyright owner have been discussed in detail. The issues have been discussed using the various laws and the decisions of the courts. The landmark judgements form a main part of the issues. In the end a comparison of the two laws are made with respect to the statistics of copyright infringement incidents and the effective implementation of copyright laws.
