Abstract
This article examines the Ottoman government propaganda in the Ottoman military publications to legitimize the Ottoman Empire’s entrance in World War I on the side of Germany after the government faced harsh criticism for its decision to side with Germany. Because the other major powers, G. Britain and Russia adopted an explicitly anti-Ottoman foreign policy in the late nineteenth century, the Ottoman military publications presented the alliance with Germany as the least bad option and stated it as an inevitable outcome.
