Abstract
This research studies density of tropical timbers species Iroko (Chloraphora Excelsa), Sapelli (Entandrophragma Cylindricum), Sipo (Entandrophragma Utile), Bubinga (Guibourlia Lessmannii), Azob (Lophira Alata) and Ebony (Diospyros Crassiflora), depending of their moisture rate and high surrounding atmospheric temperatures (50C, 60C, 70C) by successive weighting. Results present two timbers categories (light-weighted and weighted). The correlations providing density when considering their moisture rate and ambient temperature are established at first approximation. Such correlations ease digital simulation and modelling of the drying process. The results are adequate. The moisture rate and the surrounding temperature influence the porosity of these species and that of the density, as well. The porosity of each species at the anhydrous is determined.
