Abstract
The publication is based on several episodes of geophysical studies using thermal technology geotomography (TGT) developed by “Special Centre of Aerospace Technologies” (Dnepropetrovsk, Ukraine), on the physical database Thermal imaging surveys in 1999?2010 of Thematic Mapper “Landsat-7” (ETM +). The results prove suggest the technology to be an effective tool for solving practical problems of predicting hydrocarbon deposits. A number of important generalizations have been formulated that can serve as a basis for new research directions in exploration for oil and gas within the explored sedimentary basins, as well as new promising regions poorly studied so far. Concluded that hydrocarbon deposits are associated with destructive zones of geoenvironment, localization of which may be determined using the thermodynamic characteristics. The presence of hydrocarbon formation channels and perhaps their feeding in the thermal field makes it possible to conclude origin of secondary hydrocarbon deposits is abiogenically-mantle.
