Abstract
Novel Corona virus disease 2019, a fatal disease caused by SARS-CoV-2 became a health threatening pandemic in recent times. The virulence of this virus is more effective when compared to the past epidemic SARS-Co V and MERS-Co V. The number of fatal cases is increasing day by day due to this infection. The permanent cure for this disease is still being a challenge for the scientists and researchers since there is no vaccination discovered. Currently certain antiviral agents and antimalarial agents have been used in the treatment of the disease. These drugs mainly suppresses the replication of the virus. The urgency to develop new vaccines against this pandemic is mandatory and Indian medicinal herbs can be used as the source of the modern drug against this disease. In this article, we discuss about the outbreak, diagnostic tools, therapeutic approaches, vaccines under clinical trials, Indian traditional medicinal herbs as a source of new vaccine and prevention methods of COVID19. We suggest Indian medicinal herbs can also be used for its antiviral properties against various viral infections and other diseases.
