Abstract
Pediatric palliative care is a branch of a medical health system. Palliative care may improve quality of life in children and their careers as well as to improve quality of dying in terminally ill patients. The main question among specialists is if a patient has indication for palliative care. This article includes information about main terminology and principles of pediatric palliative care, needs in Russia, prognostic groups and criteria for oncological and non-oncological patients, legislation framework for organization, medical equipment supplying, and transition to adult palliative care service.
