Analyzing Energy Efficiency of Cluster Based Routing Protocol

Cluster based routing algorithm is an efficient network routing protocol in MANETs in terms of bandwidth utilization. The Cluster based routing protocol divides the nodes of the ad hoc network into a number of clusters in a distributed manner. A cluster head is elected for each cluster to maintain the information about the members of cluster. The routes between different clusters are discovered dynamically using the membership information stored with each cluster head. The cluster based routing protocol although provides a number of benefits but it also suffers from few limitations. Our aim here is to analyze the cluster based routing protocol based on the energy efficiency.
