Abstract
The main social and economic consequences of interaction between anthropogenic and natural factors in the process of city development are determined. The main environmental, economic and social problems of modern cities are identified. Foreign experience of administrating city development is analyzed with existing environmental limitations taken into consideration. The recommendations to minimize the negative social and economic effects of urbanization are proposed.
