Abstract

The depletion of petroleum and concern for the pollution due to excessive use of mineral oil based lubricants has motivated the researcher globally to direct their work on alternative ie. Biolubricants. Lubricants gives an anti-friction medium which gives smooth motion to mating surfaces, reduce friction and wear. Due to this increasing demand for eco-friendly lubricant, lot of research work has been done to enhance the lubricating oils with adding the additives to improve overall properties. Though researcher studied effect of adding nano particles in synthetic and mineral based lubricant but very limited work is reported in case of nano particle based Biolubricants. The nano based Biolubricant can be a replacement for synthetic lubricant thus providing a ecofriendly alterative. Thus to determine the suitable nanoparticles and Bio lubricants, detail review is needed which also focuses on different parameters. This review paper is aimed to highlight the research carried out in the field of Biolubricant with nano additives for the Tribological applications.
