Abstract

Adolescence is important in becoming an individual. It is characterized by contradictions and conflict situations. This leads to the fact that modern adolescents often have difficulties in the process of learning. Success in learning is related not only to the teenager's understanding of the importance of perceived knowledge, but also to his interest and motivation to acquire it. The study of educational motivation, which is the basis of their personal formation and development, gains special importance for the optimization of adolescent learning. One, as practice shows, the modern educational process does not contribute to the emergence in children of the desire not only to improve their intellectual level, but also to learn in general. Taking into account this point, studying of motivational benefits in learning, analyzing students' goals and needs, identifying motivating and demotivating factors, as well as finding the most effective methods of motivating influence on a given category of people, is a very urgent task in the context of modern education. An empirical study of psychological features of adolescent learning motivation has been conducted. The analysis of the obtained results made it possible to distinguish the main psychological features of adolescents' educational motivation. The following provisions are tendentious for the graduates namely: the motive for “avoiding failure” is clearly expressed; the cognitive motive is not sufficiently expressed; clear indicators of the motive of "volitional effort", of the motive of "regularity of results". Students of the 7th grade demonstrate: a clear dominance of the motive for “success”, a component of “predictions of subject activity assessment”, a cognitive motive in the “core of the motivational structure”, “assessment of one's potential”; low indicators of the motive "significance of results". Diagnosis results were compared with students' success, that is, teacher ratings. The direct dependence of educational motivation and learning success is revealed. Based on the obtained results, we see the need to develop the motivational sphere of adolescents in order to improve their educational success. The prospect of further research is seen in the selection of training exercises aimed at developing the internal and cognitive motivation of adolescents.
