Abstract
Our study is to evaluate the potential bioactive compound of Seaweed and its antibacterial activity against Seafood pathogens.40 strains was active in antagonistic activity against various pathogens. Among the strains, antibacterial activity of seaweed species Gelidium spinosum Gracilariaedulis, Ulvalactuca, Ulvareticulata, Sargassummuticum, Gracilariagrevillea, Monostromalatismum, Kappaphycusalvarasi, Padinapavonica, Codiumfragile, Caulerpacorynephora, Leathesiamarina, Padinatetrastromatica, Laurenciakarachiana, Sargassumweightii, Porphyraumbilicalis, Colpomeisisinosa showed better activity against Escherichia coli. The inhibition zone of red algae and brown algae give maximum effect. Sargassum wightii seaweed Acetone extracts 3.5mm against Escherichia coli. Laurenciakarrachiana seaweed Acetone extract 3.0mm zone of inhibition against Escherichia coli.
