Abstract
The reform of education at the present stage does not seem possible without the teachers' acquisition of new high-tech tools, and above all - the latest tools for supporting teaching and learning activities whose effectiveness is due to the use of visualization technologies. Visualization technologies make it possible to convert large volumes of study material into formats, compact and at the same time effective for its perception, awareness and assimilation, and serve as the basis for solving urgent pedagogical problems. the main task - to interest the student, to force him to independently explore a particular industry, to study something new, interesting, useful. One of the most interesting ways of teaching the material, as well as systematizing the student's independent work, is mental maps. According to the results of psychological research, it is established that a person remembers 20% of what he heard, 30% of what he saw, 70% of what he saw and heard at the same time, 80% of what he saw, heard and discussed, 90% of what he saw, heard, discussed and actively executed. Visualization allows you to translate the learning information coming from different channels of perception into a visual form that increases the processing speed and assimilation of the material at the expense of the most effective ways of working with it. The article analyzes mental maps as a new technology of visualization of educational material in the educational process.
