Abstract

The problem of the formation and development of the Department of Art Ceramic in the postwar period is considered in this study: from the establishment of Uzhhorod College of Arts and Manufacture to the Transcarpathian Academy of Arts. The purpose of the paper is to reveal the peculiarities of the formation and development of the Department of "Art Ceramic" in the modern Transcarpathian Academy of Arts through the prism of historical, personal and organizational aspects. The methodological bases of the research are historical, scientific and methodical source materials, their analysis and synthesis as well as comparison, generalization and systematization of archival materials. The author notes that the formation and development of artistic education, ceramic in particular, in Transcarpathian region is associated with the activities of famous artists of that time, including Adalbert Erdeli, who, relying on the significant achievements of famous artists of the region, managed to obtain permission of the Soviet authorities to open the first artistic institution - Uzhhorod College of Arts and Manufacture, which today became the Transcarpathian Academy of Arts. The high level of educational process is evidenced by the fact that Academia graduates and graduates of the leading art institutions of that time become its teachers, lecturers and masters. They laid and developed the best traditions of training specialists in the field of ceramics, and it is evidenced by the achievements of the teachers themselves at various art forums, as well as graduates' course works and diploma papers that demonstrate high intellectual and aesthetic perfection and special skill of implementation. The novelty of the research lies in the fact that on the basis of analysis of professional literature and archival material, the role of socio-economic factors and leading specialists in the field of fine arts and art ceramic is disclosed. The features of the material and technical base, the role of course and diploma design and various types of practices in the training of qualified specialists are also determined. The perspectives for further research are seen in the study and generalization of the pedagogical and professional experience of the teachers of the Department of Art Ceramic of the Transcarpathian Academy of Arts and the preparation of educational and methodological materials concerning improving the educational process and conducting various types of practices.
