Abstract
The article deals with the peculiarities of Polish schooling in the period of prosperity of the Polish-Lithuanian Principality in the context of studying of problems of the social and educational inequality the form and extent of manifestation of social inequality in education in Poland of the period named above have been revealed; the common and specific features of solving the problem of educational inequality in Poland and Western Europe have been identified; the attention has been stressed on the analysis of People's Educational Commission f on the issue of the development of the public education.
