Economic Mechanism of the Stimulating of the Innovative Activity in Ukraine

The article notes that in modern economic conditions, innovations are one of the key factors that determine the prospects for social and economic development. It was revealed that during 2010-2019 there was a significant reduction in the number of organizations engaged in research and development, a decrease in the number of innovatively active enterprises and the number of performers of research activities. The dynamics of changes in the expenditures of enterprises on innovative activ-ities during 2010-2019, the number of innovations (products and/or technological pro-cesses) introduced by regions in 2019 and the share of expenditures on R&D in GDP in the EU countries have been investigated.
