Abstract

Chinese literature has always fascinated the reader with its genre variety. Pu Songling is one of the writers in the history of Chinese literature who perfected the novel genre and marked the further development of this genre. Each novel by Pu Songlin is part of a universal view of the universe, which requires many other parts to complement, complicate, and enrich this view. Pu Songlin's novellas are clearly classified according to the- matic content. Critical objects of Pu Songling's writings can be divided into the following groups: Buddhism and criticism of its growing influence; criticism of officials being sold for money; criticism of the examination sys- tem; criticism of the justice system. These were works that challenged the upper strata of society. The article analyzes the issues of society and man in the novels of Pu Songling
