The Importance of the Documents of CSSTA of Ukraine for Studying the Activities of Ukrainian Research Institutions in Building Field in 1945–1960 (on the Example of the Southern Research Institutes of the Construction Industry)

The purpose of the article is to cover various aspects of the organization of the working process in the Ukrainian scientifi c research institutions of the construction profi le on the example of documents of the Southern Research Institute of the Construction Industry («SRI») from the fond of the CSSTA of Ukraine. The protocols of the meetings of the scientifi c and technical council and the annual reports on scientifi c and technical activities of «SRI» in 1945-1960 were analyzed and some facts from the history of the institute were given. The methodology of the research involves the application of general scientifi c and special scientifi c methods, in particular the analysis and research of scientifi c and technical information sources and data systematization. The scientifi c novelty of the article is due to insuffi cient study of research activities of «SRI» and its contribution to the development of construction in Ukraine. Introduction of the protocols of meetings of the scientifi c and technical council and annual reports on scientifi c and technical activities will contribute to the development of information about the Institute and the creation of a comprehensive picture of functioning of the domestic construction industry. The prospects of further studies. Considering the fact that the topic of construction has become particularly topical in recent years, there is a need to conduct scientifi c research on the activities of Ukrainian research institutions in the construction fi eld, which are the creators of the fonds of CSSTA of Ukraine. Conclusions. The CSSTA of Ukraine retains a signifi cant array of documents related to various construction problems. The protocols of meetings of the scientifi c and technical council and annual reports on scientifi c and technical activities of «SRI» provide an opportunity to get acquainted with approaches to solving these problems, as well as to learn about daily work of Ukrainian scientistsbuilders in the fi rst post-war decades.
