Abstract
Autonomous power plants or individual power generators are used to obtain electric energy in the absence or failure of transmission lines from the Central power supply. Fire danger of these units is caused by the use of internal combustion engines operating on different types of fuel (diesel fuel, gasoline, compressed or liquefied gas). Fire safety of electric generator sets is similar to fire safety of boiler rooms and garages. However, there are no special sections in fire safety regulations concerning the electric generator sets. This article presents the necessary information taking into account some special features of electric generator sets and can be used at the reissue of regulations.
