Abstract
Self ligation orthodontics is becoming more popular recently because of the ease of ligation. The study aims to assess the efficiency of self ligating brackets compared to the conventional brackets during the initial alignment stage. Study models of 20 patients who had undergone orthodontic treatment with Damon self ligating system and conventional ligating system were included in the study. The study models were assessed for anterior arch alignment, extraction space closure and changes in intercanine widths at pre-operative stage and after 20 weeks of treatment T0, T1 ( 10 weeks), T2 ( 20 weeks). All the data about the above parameters was collected , tabulated and subjected to statistical analysis. Two-sample t-test for assessing the difference between pre- and posttreatment values among the groups were performed
