Abstract
Some results of measurement and analysis of visibility, and three linear regression models, for estimating the monthly mean visibility at Sokoto (13031N, 80.0E), Nigeria, West Africa, are presented. Fraction of sunshine hours, relative humidity and maximum temperature covering a period of 5 years (2002-2006), obtained from the Meteorological Department Sultan Abubakar (III) International Airport Sokoto. The prediction of the models and the measured visibility were tested using the correlation coefficient and percentage absolute error method. The best model was found to be: V = 7.02 + 0.16 (R.H).
