Abstract
Many attempts have been made for improving the properties of SCC using different combinations of ingredients, various proportioning etc. Aim of present work is to explore the effect on durability parameters of self-compacting concrete produced by using cementitious materials, ultrafine concrete additive and fourth generation superplasticizers. A new additive named Hycrete is introduced as a cementitious material for producing high grade SCC. It is used in blend with OPC, fly ash, Metakaolin/Micro silica, along with Viscocrete, a fourth-generation super plasticizer. Various trial mixes are prepared by proportioning all ingredients. Mix proportioning is done by following EFNARC guidelines and the method developed by RMC Professionals. Durability tests such as RCPT & Water Permeability test were conducted on prepared trial mixes. Results revealed that, Hycrete incorporated SCC blends proved excellent performers in producing durable SCC.
