INVESTMENT ACTIVITY OF UKRAINE: CURRENT STATE, PROBLEMS AND POSSIBILITIES OF ITS ACTIVATION

Abstract
The article examines the state of investment activity in Ukraine. Based on the official data of the State Statistics Service of Ukraine and the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade of Ukraine, the current state of investment policy in Ukraine, in particular the volume of foreign direct investment in Ukraine, is analyzed, and the dynamics of gross fixed capital formation. The most developed spheres of economic activity, where the main investments are directed, are considered. The main reasons for the decrease in foreign direct investment in Ukraine are also considered and analyzed. The volumes of capital investment development are analyzed. The sources of financing of capital investments remained mainly own funds of enterprises and budgetary resources. The dynamics of capital investments by sources of financing is shown. Fixed capital investments by types of economic activity are considered and analyzed. According to the annual report of the Ministry of Economic Development, Trade and Agriculture of Ukraine, the crisis caused by the COVID-19 pandemic has significantly affected investment activities in Ukraine and in the world. The consequences of the influence of certain factors on the dynamics of capital investments, in particular, the reduction of foreign investment inflows, the reduction of new loans, the deterioration of financial results of enterprises are determined. The decline in the volume of capital investment has taken place in almost all types of economic activity. After analyzing the state of investment activity in Ukraine, it was determined that in recent years in Ukraine the growth rate of investment activity has significantly decreased. The main reasons for the reduction in investment are: legislative, legal, monetary, tax, insurance and other economic factors affected by the unfavorable financial situation in the world and the COVID-19 pandemic. In order to intensify investment activities and attract foreign investment, as well as domestic investment, it is necessary to implement measures that could increase the investment attractiveness of industries, regions and the state as a whole.
