Abstract
Carbethoxyhydrazone of omega-bromo-para-nitroacetophenone, undescribed in the chemical literature, was synthesized in good yield by condensation of the corresponding carbonyl compound with carbethoxyhydrazine obtained under laboratory conditions in methanol in the presence of glacial acetic acid as a catalyst.
