Abstract
Banks place excessive position on the economic development and social upliftment of the country and the development of the agricultural sector and small enterprises. The lending policy of banks is considered sector wise in two. One is Priority sector lending (PSL) and the other is Non Priority Sector Lending (NPSL). The NonPerforming Asset (NPA) is one of the most detrimental to bank lending. This research study how much NPA is incurred on loans given by public and private sector banks
