SCIENTIFIC PROCESSING OF DOCUMENTS OF PERSONAL ARCHIVE HISTORIAN, LOCAL HISTORIAN S.I. SHEVCHENKO

The relevance of the research topic is determined by the general problems of acquisition of museum funds and scientific research of museum objects that come and are stored in museum funds. This is due to a number of factors, such as increasing the role of museums in the upbringing of applicants for higher education; increasing public interest to historical monuments; improving the forms and methods of work in order to accelerate the pace of development and increase the level of museum work, the growing popularity of museums. Classification and systematization museum objects aims to establish their relationships. The classification consists in division into groups on the basis of kinship and difference of the whole volume of materials required by the museum. Such classification is carried out according to the classification schemes developed by the museum and covers both the objects available in the museum, and those in the acquisition of which the institution is interested. Thus, the classification reveals certain gaps in museum collections. The funds of the Kirovohrad Regional Museum of Local Lore contain a number of documents that allow to clarify and specify the biography of the prominent scientist and public figure S.I. Shevchenko, and to deepen the idea of his creative legacy. This study analyzed the main milestones of social and scientific activities of the famous historian; the historiographical analysis of a problem of acquisition of museum funds is carried out; the main classification features of the documents of the archival fund in museums are determined; carried out scientific and fund description, classification and systematization of documents of the personal archive of the famous historian, local historian Serhiy Shevchenko, which the author in 2015 transferred to the funds of the Kirovohrad Regional Museum of Local Lore. The researched documents are grouped into three funds: basic, research and support, exchange. Each fund is classified and grouped by subject, chronology and condition of preservation.
