Abstract
A prospective interventional comparative study was conducted in the Department of General Surgery, Medical College and Hospitals, Kolkata to compare the effectiveness of wound healing in suturing and apposition with adhesive tapes. The study comprised of 40 cases, admitted in the various surgical units of Medical College and Hospital, Kolkata. Overall, secondary wound closure lead to increased painless cosmetic acceptability and a slightly higher incidence of wound infection post-procedure as compared to secondary suturing, whereas secondary suturing had a shorter wound re-epithelialization time
