Teacher Involvement in School Management and Transfer Intentions in Public Primary Schools in Turkana County in Kenya

Abstract
The objectives of this study were to influence of teacher involvement in school management on transfer intentions in public primary schools in Turkana County in Kenya. The study adopted ex-post facto research design which allowed the researcher to collect both qualitative and quantitative data. The sample size was 246 non-resident teachers and 36 public primary schools hence 36 head teachers. Simple random sampling technique was used to select the non- resident teachers while purposive sampling technique was used to select head teachers. The questionnaire was administered to the teachers while interview schedule was administered to head teachers. The reliability level of 0.883 was obtained which met the reliability coefficient and threshold of 0.7 and above. Data was analysed using weighted averages, Pearson?s correlation and Multiple regression. The study concluded that teacher involvement in management had statistical significant influence on transfer intentions among the non-resident teachers in public primary schools in Turkana County.
