Abstract
Mirizzi syndrome is defined as common hepatic duct obstruction caused by extrinsic compression from an impacted stone in cystic duct or infundibulum of gall bladder. Its reported incidence is 0.1% in overall gall stone disease. Historically, biliobiliiary fistulae have been referred as "Trap in surgery for cholelithiasis [1] [2], because presence of such a fistula is not recognized until time of surgery.
