Current status of the problem of development of goals criminal penalty

The question of the main goals of criminal punishment still belongs to the area of ​​debatable issues of criminal law. Despite the laws adopted in recent years, which form the legal basis for the fight against crime, its level remains unreasonably high, which makes us think about the correctness of establishing and executing the goals of criminal punishment. The article deals with the issues of the goals of criminal punishment, analyzes issues related to the achievement of the goals of criminal punishment. The object of the study is social relations that develop in the process of implementation and application of criminal punishment under Russian criminal law.
