Abstract
Women Entrepreneurs plays a very crucial role in growth and development of an economy. If women in a family is educated and employed, that means, the entire nation is developed and self-reliant. The Uttarakhand women have been a victim of gender biasness since long. The government has laid down various policies for women empowerment but still path is very long and challenging for women in Uttarakhand to create and maintain their separate position as entrepreneurs in the state and finally in the Indian economy. In present scenario, still women faces a lot hurdles and challenges and because of that their growth and development is restricted. Rise in the status and standard of women in Uttarakhand is the need of an hour. This paper throws light on the current challenges faced by women entrepreneurship in Uttarakhand and tries to provide solutions to overcome the gaps in the development of entrepreneurship among women so that appropriate policies can be made for the same
