Abstract
Liberalization, privatization and globalization have significantly contributed to the growth of the economy, resulting in an overflow of business goods in the market. However, the lack of competence and awareness among women investors prohibits them from making proper economic decisions. To achieve the goals, an individual must invest her financial savings in the appropriate funding sources. Therefore, this study aims to understand the reasons for less financial literacy among women investors in India. The extant literature was considered for understanding the market beliefs of women investors in India. The findings suggest that, despite substantial attempts to promote financial literacy among the young and women, it remains insufficient. The literature review analysis posits that socio-demographic characteristics, as well as the financial condition and complexity of one's family, had a substantial impact on financial literacy. The findings provide several implications for academicians and practitioners
