Abstract

The use of solid-state electronics for the management and transfer of electric power is known as power electronics. It teaches the fundamentals of circuitry for the efficient regulation and conversion of electrical electricity. The configuration of modern power systems is divided into three distinct but interconnected sections: production, transmission, and distribution. The performance of a generator is usually AC, although certain devices use DC input, which allows for the most effective use of power in applications such as various forms of sockets, cables, switches, and fixtures. The bulk transfer of electrical power in high-voltage direct current (HVDC) electric power transmission networks is done with DC. In certain situations, though, we use AC power and are only provided with DC quantities, such as transformers and three motors. In these situations, we must transform AC to DC or DC to AC. SCR, Power BJT, Chopper, and other electronic instruments may be used to do this. In this paper, we will look at how SCR, TRIAC, GTO, and IGBT are used in electrical power systems. Wherever there is a need to adjust the voltage, current, or frequency of electric electricity, power electronic converters may be used. These converters vary in capacity from a few milliwatts (as in a cell phone) to hundreds of megawatts in an HVDC transmission grid. Electrical currents and voltage are used to hold knowledge in "classical" electronics, but they are used to carry electricity in power electronics. As a result, the performance of power electronics becomes the primary parameter.
