Abstract
Over the last decade, the use of "machine learning" and "artificial intelligence" has grown in popularity. In science and the media, both words are commonly used, often interchangeably, and often with opposite definitions. We hope to explain the connection between these concepts in this paper, and in particular, to define the role of machine learning in artificial intelligence. We provide a conceptual structure that clarifies the function of machine learning in the development of (artificial) intelligent agents, based on a study of related literature. As a result, we hope to have more terminological clarification as well as a jumping off point for potential (interdisciplinary) conversations and study. Machine learning is one of the most promising new Artificial Intelligence developments. Many programmes that we use on a regular basis use learning algorithms. When you use a web search engine like Google or Bing to search the website, one of the reasons it performs so well is because it has learned how to rate web pages thanks to a learning algorithm introduced by Google or Microsoft. Any time you use Facebook and it knows your friends' pictures, you're using machine learning. Spam filters in email prevent the recipient from trying to sift through a deluge of spam messages, and they're even based on a learning algorithm. The overwhelming implementations of machine learning are reviewed briefly in this article, along with their potential prospects
