Abstract
This article discusses dialect differences in the American version of the English language. A compari- son of dialects between the regions of the United States is carried out, emphasis is placed on geographical and historical aspects. Dialect differences are associated with the cultural aspect, with the peculiarities of historical development. The interaction of ethnic groups among themselves, the interpenetration of cultures has an impact on the language. The article points out that historically, the population has constantly migrated, moved, and ex- changed experiences. In some cases, native speakers switch from one dialect to another, mixing occurs, and a new accent may appear that did not exist before. The differences are due to a number of factors, some of which are mentioned in the article
