Abstract

Increasing demand for power industry to rely on automation, which in turn rely on communication enhancement which paves the way for Self-healing SMART Grid - a dream for every system that is working using artificial intelligence techniques which is an important characteristic of smart grid. For an Intelligent power distribution system, it has the objective of performing fault location, isolation and service restoration with or without limited distribution system operator and repair crew intervention. Self-healing control techniques are been evaluated in TNEB grid, experimented in the virtual box. This paper analyses the techniques to achieve self-healing of power system. Kovur Substation located in Chennai is taken as sample network and various fault conditions recorded were simulated and a proposal has been devised for better optimization towards self-healing grid system.
