Abstract
The objective of the present study is to investigate the problems of growth of slums in Urban India special reference to Kolkata and analysis the prevailing socio-economic conditions of slum dwellers and measures adopted by the government and development on the self- help basis.This study will highlight the problems in analyzing the slum condition available in Kolkata.
