DIDACTIC GAME AS A MEANS OF SHAPING FOREIGN LANGUAGE COMMUNICATIVE COMPETENCE IN PRESCHOOLERS

Introduction. The article presents the results of the pilot study of foreign language communicative and logical-mathematical competencies formation in preschoolers using mathematical didactic games; reveals the content of key study concepts: «immersion», «foreign language competence», «mathematical competence». Purpose. The purpose of the article is to determine the influence of didactic mathematical games on the process of shaping foreign language communicative competence in senior preschoolers; to describe the phases of pilot study. Methods. The theoretical methods of analysis and summarizing scientific literature, educational experiment. Results. The educational experiment was conducted to determine the influence of mathematical didactic games on the process of shaping foreign language communicative competence in senior preschoolers; the diagnostic tools was developed to determine the base level of foreign language competence in preschoolers. The authors of the article briefly presented the molding phase: the forms of work are presented; the results of the molding phase are presented too. The results obtained at the control phase of the pilot study confirmed the effectiveness of didactic mathematical games (with elements of English) as a means of shaping foreign language communicative competence in senior preschoolers. Originality. It has been experimentally proved that didactic mathematical games have a positive effect on the shaping foreign language communicative competence in senior preschoolers. Conclusion. Mathematical didactic games (with English language elements) have a positive effect on the shaping foreign language communicative competence in senior preschoolers and the organized foreign-language environment around preschoolers allowed the authors to realize in practice the principle of «immersion» in a foreign language (English). Since the objectives of the study did not provide the identifying of the mathematical development level in preschoolers and the influence of didactic mathematical games on mathematical competence shaping in children, it will be the prospect for further scientific study by the authors.
