Abstract
A Comparative study of clinical response in treatment of keloid and hypertrophic scar with intralesional triamcinolone and intralesional 5 ? fluorouracil was carried out in Government tertiary care and referral Hospital, BMC & RI, Bangalore during December 2008 to June 2010. It was found that the keloid and hypertrophic scar were common in middle age group IQR 32-41 years. They can occur spontaneously or after a trivial trauma and commonly involves the chest area and presenting with variable symptoms. Intralesional formulations used in the treatment were effective, safe and comparable. The clinical response with intralesional triamcinolone was better when compared to intralesional 5 ? fluorouracil. The minor adverse events occurred with therapeutic stage.
