Abstract
This paper attempts to critically highlight the gender gaps in higher education and also to place an argument to understand socio-cultural and economic factors affecting the decision about the choices of women in higher education. Gender auditing can play a crucial role to enhance accessibility and deliver gender equity as well as quality in Higher Education. Higher Education Institutions need to be gender sensitive and responsive in their approach so that more of women participation can be ensured for learning and later for employment.
