Effect of Pain Control on Quality of Life in Cancer Patients

Abstract
There has been growing importance being placed on symptom control and the quality of life (QOL) in patients with cancer, with the aim to provide comprehensive care, and pain is one of the most common distressing symptoms. In this study, 299 enrolled patients? QOL were assessed by FACT-G questionnaire before and after pain control.221patients had pain control in this study, and their FACT G scores showed a statistically significant improvement from baseline. Advanced disease stages, poor performance status, older age and lower socioeconomic status were associated with worse scores in both pain and QOL at baseline.
