Abstract
Study on biodiversity of avifauna was done from Khanapur dam Ajara, District Kolhapur of Maharashtra. Frequent visits were arranged to observe the birds from this reservoir. Observation of birds was done for a period of one year from January 2021 to December 2021. The observation shows that Birds from this reservoir represents ten orders like Piciformes, Anseriformes, Charadriiformes, Falconiformes, Gruiformes, Coraciiformes, Coraciiformes, Galliformes, Ciconiiformes, Ciconiiformes. About 50 species were documented during study period which could be treated as a good state of biodiversity. This is correlated with physico-chemical properties of water and aquatic vegetation found in these reservoirs.
