Abstract
Introduction. The article presents the assessment of an area adjacent to an urban railway station. Given the results of the analysis, conclusions are drawn about the spatial development limits in the area of influence of a rapid transport station. The authors propose an integrated approach that takes account of the principles of sustainable development. It will ensure the effective use of urban areas and spaces that meet the requirements applicable to comfortable environments. The rational use of urban environments in the areas of influence of rapid transport stations entails, among other things, the development of pedestrian and transport infrastructure. Materials and methods. The area of influence of rapid transport stations is presented as an integral urban planning system. The subject of the study is proposed to be considered in the context of patterns of settlement systems and locations of areas of employment relative to rapid transport stops. Results. The authors propose simulation modeling and mathematical statistics to identify the regularities of a settlement system in the area of influence of an urban railway station. They encompass the calculation of the Pearson consensus criterion and the analysis of contingency tables. The development of this research area is feasible using the logistic regression method. These methods will take account of the spatial planning structure, the number of jobs, the population, the walking time to the stations of the urban railway and the use of other means of public transport in the areas of influence of rapid transport stations. Conclusions. The research results can be contributed to the development of research-based requirements applied to the areas of influence of rapid transport stations.
