Abstract
the article presents an analysis of the scientific literature on the problem of adaptation of young employees of the penitentiary system (UIS), identifies and examines some areas of research: psychological means of adaptation, psychological characteristics of young employees and professionally important qualities necessary for successful adaptation, features of psychological support of young employees, comparative penitentiary and psychological studies of adaptation features of young employees graduates of departmental and civilian higher education institutions.
