Abstract
This article attempts to embrace the entire complexity of the United Stated national strategic thinking as applied to the Indo-Pacific region. The author indicates transformation of the international system and dwells on how this development is reflected in the creation of a relatively new concept of Indo-Pacific. It is worth saying that the article covers foreign policy strategy, not military one, but they both share some general tenets. Then the distinctive features of U.S. strategic culture are highlighted. At the end of the article, the author summarizes briefly the current US Indo-Pacific strategy
