DIPLOMATIC RELATIONS BETWEEN CHINA AND THE UNITED STATES IN THE PERIOD 2008–2021: AN OVERVIEW OF CURRENT PROBLEMS

This article observes the political problems China and the US had to face throughout the period of 2008–2021. It is described in which way countries deal with the indicated issues with the help of examples from official documentation and official websites. The dynamics of US-China relations strongly depends on the transi- tion from the previously proclaimed “constructive strategic partnership” to “strategic rivalry”, covering a wide range of aspects of interaction between the two countries. The author concludes that these aspects had a strong impact on the diplomatic tools and approaches used by both sides
