Abstract
Leadership and management are inseparably linked to the advancement of the internal growth of the human system, as they bear admiring changes for social and intellectual development. The importance of leadership and management in education in any situation knows no bound. It paves the way to create a favorable atmosphere to grow and meet all the demands of teachers and students, necessarily yet positively influencing performance. One of the critical roles of leaders and managers of educational institutes is to facilitate teaching and learning. Integrating digital education (e-learning), removing the digital divide and digital poverty to ensure access to technology for all students can simplify the job of leaders and managers in educational processes. The objective of this study is to review policies and practices in Bangladesh adopted to develop teaching English, keeping the use of resources in focus. It will also examine the role of principals, managing committees, governing bodies, stakeholders, and legislation concerning educational leadership. The study has been conducted mainly based on peer-reviewed literature, journal articles, and policy documents. The paper advocates that teacher leadership development must be at the forefront of educational development programs to promote outstanding teaching-learning processes in schools and colleges. The paper further advocates that principals must gain current knowledge of leadership theory and research to provide them with the theoretical understandings of leadership techniques that will help their schools succeed as Bangladesh is currently undergoing several education reforms and challenges. The study also finds school leaders' roles in integrating technology that can promote desired quality components.
