Abstract
Poverty is being witnessed as one of the devastated sins for the people. Immigration has been appeared as one of the major issues of the millennium in Assam politics. Both the term ‘poverty' and ‘immigration' are correlated as most of the poverty ridden people migrated illegally for their livelihood. Data shows that maximum number of poorer families have become victimized of natural catastrophic as well as state's unwillingness to accommodate their demands. In a nutshell, they don't have any voice in the political landscape. Therefore, present study is an attempt to analyze the correlation between these two. For this purpose, we would be taking the help of some of the landmark cases that signify its relationship. The present work is also an attempt to analyze the impact of National Registrar of Citizens and its effect on marginalized sections of the society.
