Abstract
In 2016, government of India launched PMFBY, an insurance scheme for farmers for their yields. The scheme subsumes earlier insurance schemes, like National Agriculture Insurance Scheme (NAIS), Weather based crop insurance scheme and Modified National Agriculture Insurance Scheme (MNAIS)
