Abstract
This paper sheds light on miscarriages of justice, wrongful convictions, false confessions, police arrest and legal technicality. Whenever a person is arrested by the police, certain legal rules need to be followed. The ‘suspect' should be treated as ‘innocent until proven guilty'. However, in many countries, police do treat the suspect as ‘guilty until proven innocent' which is highly objectionable.
