Abstract
India, the practice of triple talaq is being followed in society with the support of traditions; but it is not acceptable in society due to the violation of rights of others. In civilized society, gender equality should be the most important aspect and integral part. An expressed provision has been made in the Constitution of India, but it is not being implemented strictly; a strict implementation of these provisions is much needed. Shayara Bano vs. Union of India case has sparked and heated the topic of gender biased practices in the Islamic Laws and set a level of awareness as to how individual fight for their rights.
